The Hi-line

We traveled HWY 2 the entire day today, traveling what is known as the Hi-Line in north Montana. It was beautiful, although it included a fair amount of construction. We passed through towns like Wolf Point, Havre, Shelby and Browning. Finally we ended in Hungry Horse, a small "burb" of Kalispell. We are staying at Mt. Meadows, which ironically happens to be right next door to the campground we stayed at 2 years ago (on trip to Calgary). It is an OK park, although they were not able to place us next to each other and were somewhat grumpy about it when i asked. they do have a nice pond from which Colby and Steve attempted to fly fish this evening.

Upon arrival Steve noticed that the tire on our trailer was flat. Further inspection revealed a leak (puncture) in the tire. So Steve had to figure out how to change the tire on a very slanted site. Thankfuly we have a spare tire to change it, and a dad to help with a jack that handled the trailer much better than the truck jack might have. After replacing it, we headed into Whitefish and dropped the tire at Les Schwab (thank you customer service). We toured around the cute town of Whitefish, grabbed the tire and headed back towards our trailers.

The boys requested a stop at Amazing Adentureland, and we had to comply. First, the boys and I tackled a diceiving maze. It was actually really hard and I am glad I insisted on accompanying the boys (turns out the average time to complete it was over 1 1/2 hours). We did get frustrated but completed it in under an hour. Then the boys hit the bumper boats and soaked themselves, a perfect balm to the blistering sun. While we were in the maze, mom, dad & Steve went next door to a whiskey distillery and enjoyed some tasting.

We are now back that the campsite, enjoying popcorn popped on the fire and company of those we love. Having a great time and a little sad that tomorrow is our last night. Already planning the next adventure...
