We slept in a little this morning, not having a lot on the agenda for the day. After another buffet breakfast, we had our picture taken in an old fashioned photograph studio at our hotel. The interesting part about this photo is they had us dress up like eskimos mushing a sled. It was a lot of fun, donning real furs and mittens and posing together as a group. We had to do a lot of convincing to get chuck in the photo but we prevailed. Can't wait to hang this latest installment on our wall at home.
We were able to check our luggage straight to the train so we headed back to the visitor center to spend about an hour looking around. Some of us just sat outside in the warm sunshine, enjoying the warmth and the free wifi. Then we checked into the train station to catch our southbound train to Anchorage.
Mt McKinley hid from us this trip, but she is out in her glory today! We have seen her twice while on the train already. Once we were able to glimpse the base while the top was veiled in clouds. Then we caught a glimpse of the top over the crest of another mountain. Amazing and glad we got to see it finally. Now chuck can stop telling people the mt is a myth!NOTE FROM STEVE:
Please stop reading this as I would like to talk with my wife at least once on this trip!!!!
