Today is our last full day on board and we are at sea. I think there are many people still recovering from the tequila yesterday as it was quiet for most of the morning.
We started the day early with spa appointments. I booked a facial while Steve enjoyed hot stone massage. They were both nice and relaxing – a comforting way to start the day. Steve’s appointment took longer than mine so I spent 45 minutes in the gym, trying to burn off at least a few of the millions of calories we have consumed.
After showers we played some bingo (didn’t win) and booked an excursion for Miami. We are going to take a tour of the Everglades! We have always been curious about the Everglades and have been in Miami 4 times in the past 2 years but never seemed to make it out there. After comparing the options of waiting on the ship to disembark or getting off the boat first thing and heading on a tour, we decided this was a great way to spend the morning. While most people are waiting around in the pool and common areas, we will be on a boat gliding through the Everglades. We are really excited about this excursion and can’t wait!
We played some shuffleboard and then shopped around in the grand promenade (which is like a little mall) and had some snacky bites of mozzarella and tomatoes, olives, pepperoni, etc. Then we donned swimsuits and headed to the pool deck. After about 20 minutes of scoping, we found 2 lounge chairs in a reasonably good location and soaked up some sunshine while reading books. We enjoyed the International Men’s Belly Flop Competition (no – couldn’t convince Steve to enter although he clearly could have won it) and a bucket of Cornas. Unfortunately, these 2 Seattleites are no match for long amounts of sun so after an hour we headed inside.
I am now taking the chance to blog while Steve is hard at work in the casino, attempting to double his money like he did the other night. Tonight we will enjoy a pirate style parade and a variety show before our last dinner. Perhaps we will go dancing again but it will depend on the mood and energy level. We have to be out of our cabin at 6:45 am.
This has been a wonderful cruise and we have enjoyed every second of it!Last Day At Sea
